đPoint of interest for the week (if applicable)
đStudent questions for the week (probably a question youâve wanted to ask yourself)

Are you ready? đđť
đSince last time, in summary
Welcome back to Term 3!
There is $30 waiting for you. Please go and get it! Below are the instructions and let me know if youâve managed to get it
Itâs been a very exciting weekđlaunching our NEW #moneyvestdigital program which will be in full swing in 2025 (you might even be doing it if youâre not in Year 12!)
Iâve been travelling âď¸ across the country, first heading west to đPerth to work with Year 11 students then đMelbourne to launch our new #moneyvestdigital program with Year 9
Itâs an action packed next couple of weeks, back to Victoria and heading to Tasmania
đPOI (Point of Interest)
Inflation came out on Wednesday of this week. The trim mean (which is the RBAâs preferred measure of inflation) came in at 0.8% against expectations of 1.00%
What does this mean? Inflation is lower than the market expected which means the likelihood the RBA will need to increase interest rates on August 6th has reduced. Inflation however is still too high and the RBA will be monitoring it closely
đQuestions Unlocked
đQ: âI donât have a bank account yet, when should I open one?â
- Year 9 Student, VIC
đA: As soon as possible would be my suggestion. You will need a bank account for many things including getting paid from any future job you may have. It is free to open a bank account and you can open one online (if you have the right documents) or at a bank branch at any time. Have a look at Money Task #13 while youâre at it and get a free $30.
